Earth is the only one planet for our life. Every 24 hours it makes one round, so that half of the planet is in sunlight and the other half is in darkness. Earth is the "blue planet," because the oceans cover two-thirds of its surface. We cannot live on the Earth without water. The fresh water which we drink comes from lakes, ponds, and rivers and accounts for just 0.6 percent of the world's water supply. This vital resource fills the world's oceans, lakes, and rivers. Humans are not the only species on the planet. We share it with at least 1.6 million other types of animal and plant. All living things need a place where they can ive successfully.
