In Ukraine, the education system is defined by legislation and is implemented through several levels. The first stage is preschool education, which is not mandatory, but is recommended to prepare children for school. The next stage, general secondary education, which is compulsory and free, begins with the 1st grade and lasts 12 years.
After finishing school, students receive a certificate of complete general secondary education and have the opportunity to enter a higher educational institution. Higher education in Ukraine is available in universities, academies, institutes and colleges. The system of higher education includes bachelor's, master's and postgraduate degrees.
In particular, the Ukrainian education system was last reformed to implement European standards. The changes are aimed at improving the quality of education, developing creative thinking and preparing students for the challenges of the modern world. However, as in many other countries, there are challenges such as lack of funding and the need for further improvements in the education system
