III. Read the text
When I was a child, I used to watch a lot of TV. I watched cartoons, films, and news
programmes with my parents. But the TV shows I loved were 'The Barboskins' and 'Hey,
Arnold!'. They were both really funny. I also liked 'Bewitched', because it was exciting.
When I was about 13 or 14, I became interested in sport. I played football at school and I
loved basketball. Every Sunday night, there was a sports programme on TV called 'Match
of the Day'. It showed all the goals from the weekend's football matches. I was very keen
on football, so I always watched it. Now I'm not so interested in football, but I still like
basketball.
At university, I didn't have much time to watch TV because I was busy studying. But when
I had free time, I watched a quiz show called 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'. It was on
every Saturday evening. I watched it with my friends in the common room. Sometimes we
shouted out the answers! The host, Chris Tarrant, was very enthusiastic. That was one of
the reasons I liked it.
Nowadays, I don't watch much TV. I prefer going out with my friends or reading a novel.
But sometimes I watch a film or a TV series on Netflix. I've just finished watching
'Breaking Bad'. It's an American drama series. It's about a chemistry teacher who becomes
a drug dealer. It's very violent, but it's also very exciting. The story is engaging and the
acting is amazing. I highly recommend it!
In general, I think TV is a great way to relax and have fun. There are so many different
types of programmes to choose from - educational, entertaining, informative, etc. I believe
that if you find a programme you like, it can be a good way to learn something new.
