Dear Helen,

On the cusp of New Year, we (visited) our friends Louis and Emily. Everything (was) a blast until December 31st when a fire (broke) out at our neighbor's house. As soon as we (received) the call, we (dropped) everything and (rushed) to their house. When we (arrived) at the house, we (found) out that our neighbor (had put) the fire out, and that the main part of the house was spared. We just (needed) to fix the mess since no one was injured, and Louis and Emily, the children who accidentally (started) the fire, (dealt) lovingly with it. Fortunately, they (had dealt) with it responsibly.
