The study of the middle taiga illuvial-ferruginous podzol (Albic Podzol) was carried out on an ancient dune in the basin of the river. Bolshoi Yugan (Ob tributary, Surgut Ob region), near the site of large-scale archaeological work. The radiocarbon age of 31 charcoal morphons was determined, and 8 variants of the arrangement of carbonaceous morphons relative to mosaics of other morphons were identified. It is shown that using coals it is possible to date the time of formation of morphon mosaics, and the processes of formation of the podzolic horizon coincided with the activation of fires in the second half of the Holocene. It has been established that at the beginning of the fifth millennium, morphones with
