Although New Orleans is still recovering after the terrible hurricane in 2005, it is a colorful cosmopolitan city. Especially during carnival time.

The city has the largest carnival in North America which lasts much longer than the Rio one. It starts in the beginning of January and it has balls, parties and the main parades starting two weeks before "Fat Tuesday".

All the people riding the floats during the parades wear masks and throw festive attributes to the crowd. Loads of people dressed in symbolic colors dance to the music of the bands playing. There are also plenty of places to eat delicious food.

Started in 1699, today the New Orleans celebration is the best street party in the USA.
