Васильки в полі

Легенда Полтавщини

Якось у полі сільський хлопчик Васильок косив жито. Саме там бавилися русалки. Одній із них дуже припав до вподоби Васильок. Зачарувала вона сільського красеня. Не стримався хлопець, забув про все на світі і пішов за русалкою. А вона заманювала юнака все далі й далі.

Незчулася, як і сама в нього закохалася. Не захотіла уже назад красеня відпускати. От і надумала русалка перетворити хлопця на квітку василька, що своїм кольором нагадувала синь води.

Ось тому щороку літньої пори, коли зацвітають сині волошки, в житах бавляться русалки. Дівчата плетуть із цих гарних квіток віночки і прикрашають ними свої голови
