Environmental Pollution. Загрязнение окружающей среды.

People have always polluted their surroundings. But until now pollution was not such a serious problem. People lived in uncrowded rural areas and did not have pollution — causing machines. With the development of crowded industrial cities which put huge amounts of pollutants into small areas, the problem has become more important.

Automobiles and other new inventions make pollution steadily worse. Since the late 1960's people have become alarmed with the danger of pollution.

Air, water, and soil are necessary for existence of all living things. But polluted air can cause illness, and even death. Polluted water kills fish and other marine life. On polluted soil, food can not be grown. In addition environmental pollution spoils the natural beauty of our planet.

Pollution is as complicated as serious problem. Automobiles are polluting the air but they provide transportation for the people. Factories pollute the air and the water but they provide jobs for people and produce necessary goods. Fertilizers and pesticides are important for growing crops but they can ruin soil.

Thus, people would have to stop using many useful things if they wanted to end pollution immediately. Most people do not want that of course. But pollution can be reduced gradually.

Scientists and engineers can find the ways to reduce pollution from automobiles and factories. Government can pass the laws that would make enterprises take measures for reducing of pollution. Individuals and groups of people can work together to persuade enterprises to stop polluting activities.

                                       Ecological problems. 

 Nowadays there are many environmental problems. One of them is climate changing. Normally the ozone layer protects people from radiation, but now there are holes in the ozone layer and ultraviolet radiation can get to the Earth and it can cause illnesses. 

Many scientist think that this is the result of air pollution. 

 There aren`t oceans or seas which aren`t poisoned. A lot of them are used for dumping industrial and nuclear waste. Nuclear pollution can`t be seen, but its effects can be terrible. 

 There are a lot of endangered species of animals. Plants are in danger, too. Every day people use natural resources for example we use paper and it`s made of wood. People cut down forests and nowadays we can feel shortage of this resource.  

 If we want to protect our planet, we should ask our governments to make laws which can protect environment. We should develop international cooperation and solve ecological problems together.

                  Экологические проблемы.

 Сейчас очень много экологических проблем. Одна из них-изменение климата. В принципе (если дословно,то нормально) озоновый слой защищает людей от радиации, но сейчас появилось много дыр в озоновом слое и ультрафиолетовая радиация может попасть на землю, и это может вызвать болезни.

 Многие учёные думают, что это результат загрязнения воздуха.

 Нет океанов и морей, которые не отравлены. Многие из них используются для слива индустриальных и радиационных отходов. Радиационное загрязнение не может быть увиденным, но его эффекты могут быть плохими.

 Есть много исчезающих видов животных. Растения тоже в опасности. Каждый день люди используют природные ресурсы, например, мы используем бумагу, она сделана из дерева. Люди рубят леса и сейчас мы можем почувствовать недостаток этого ресурса.

 Если мы хотим защитить нашу планету, нам следует просить (дословно спрашивать) наше правительство изготавливать законы, которые могут защитить окружающую среду. Нам следует развивать межнациональное сотруднечество и решить экологические проблемы вместе.
