Белозёрск. Название города, расположенного на берегу Белого озера дано по гидрониму. До 1777 года населённый пункт назывался Белоозеро.
Волхов. Имя Волхов дано по р. Волхов, на берегах которой город расположен.
ВОЛХОВ, река, впадает в Ладожское озеро. Древняя русская форма Волхово. Окончательно этимология гидронима не установлена. Возможно, от финского Olhavo или от финского же volho — волшебник, не исключено также происхождение от русского ольха.
Торжок. Название происходит от слова торг — базар, торговля. В средние века Торжок был важным торговым центром на пути из «Варяг в Греки»
