Я думаю, потому что они не хотели воевать с Александром Македонским чтобы Египет остался целым и невредимым и чтобы жители этой страны не пострадали.

zxcvbnm123321: До Восточного похода Египет был под властью персов, правил там персидский царь Дарий III.У Александра Македонского было прозвище Великий, слава о нем летела впереди него. Египет сдался без боя. Дарий понимал что теряет империю и решил, что лучше заключить мировое соглашение с Александром.Но Александр захотел чтобы его признали единственным обладателем Малой Азии. Дарию все равно пришлось выйти на битву с Македонским весной 331 года до нашей эры.
