выражение x^2+5x+4 / x^2-1  будет = 0 когда

x^2+5x+4 = 0 и  x^2-1  не равно нулю,

0 /x^2-1 = 0

и

x^2-1  не равно нулю,

поскольку делить на ноль нельзя.

 задача разбивается на две задачи:

 

1

решим квадратное уравнение : Дескриминант D = b2-4ac = 5^2 - 4*1*4 = 25-16=9

найдем корни уравнения:

x1,2 = -b плюс , минус корень из 9 /2a =-5(+-)корень из 9 / 2 *1 = -5 (+-)3/2

x1 = (-5-3)/2 = -8/2 = -4

x2= (-5+3)/2= -2/2 = -1

решим неравенство x^2-1 не равно 0

x^2 не равно 1

x не равно корень из 1

x не равно +- 1 (плюс, минус)

 

так как в первом уравнении x2 = -1 следовательно x2 не может быть решением.

Отсюда следует  ответ:

 x = -4
