Last Sunday, my friend Jeremy and I decided to go to the theatre.
Jeremy's brother was playing Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at the local
theatre. Jeremy came by my house and we made our way to the theatre
on foot. The play was on at the open theatre next to the local park. It
was a nice afternoon and a warm breeze was blowing, which made it
perfect weather for enjoying a performance out in the fresh air. We got
to the theatre just a few minutes before the start of the show.
We were watching the play when, about 20 minutes after the
performance started, the sky turned very dark and the wind grew
stronger and colder. Suddenly, it started raining heavily. Everyone
started running to protect themselves from the rain. Of course, the play
stopped. The actors were wet, the stage filled with water and the
audience left to find a dry place. The rain only lasted for ten minutes but
it ruined the performance. What a pity!
