And if you want to enjoy the taste of your food more, try adding herbs or spices to it instead of salt. 3 Eat less sugar. Sugar is bad for your teeth, and it can also make you fat. Try not to eat too many sweets or chocolates. And be careful with drinks like cola and lemonade - they have a lot of sugar in them, too. It's better to drink water or fruit juice. 4 Eat less fat. Fat is very high in calories, so eating too much of it can make you fat. But you need some fat in your diet, so don't stop eating it completely. Just choose healthier fats, like olive oil and sunflower oil, and eat less of the unhealthy ones, like butter and cream. 5 Don't skip breakfast! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
