The planet is surrounded by a dense atmosphere consisting of oxygen, nitrogen and a mixture of other gases. Thanks to the atmosphere, we can breathe, and therefore live on the planet. Earth is the only known planet with life. We need to take care of our little blue ball, because it is possible that it is the only one in the universe.
