- Have you been waiting long?
- Have you caught any fish?
- Have you caught any fish?
- How many people have you invited?
- How long have you been teaching?
Explanation:
The present perfect of any verb is composed of two elements : the appropriate form of the auxiliary verb to have (present tense), plus the past participle of the main verb. The past participle of a regular verb is base+ed, e.g. played, arrived, looked.
The formula for the present perfect continuous tense is has/have been + [present participle (root form of verb + -ing)]. Recently and lately are words that we often find with verbs in the present perfect continuous tense. Mia has been competing in flute competitions recently (and she will continue to do so).
