1. Територія Арабського халіфату за перших чотирьох халіфів була обмежена на півдні Аравією та на південному заході частиною Сирії та Персії. Це був досить скромний обсяг території.

2. Омейядський халіфат розширив свою територію значно швидше. Він охопив території від Іспанії на заході до Індії на сході, включаючи середземноморський регіон, Середню Азію та Південну Індію.

3. Аббасідський халіфат зберіг значну частину Омейядського халіфату, але також здійснив розширення на схід, об'єднавши Персію та частину Індії під єдністю ісламської імперії.

Отже, територія Арабського халіфату значно змінювалася протягом різних періодів її існування, з початкового обмеженого обсягу під час перших чотирьох халіфів до масштабного розширення під Омейядами та Аббасидами.
