Marie Curie was born in Warsaw on 7th November, 1867. As a child, she showed exceptional aptitude in Mathematics and Physics. In 1891, when she was 23, she went to study at Sorbonne University in Paris.

In 1898, at the age of 30, she discovered polonium and radium. In 1903, at the age of 36, she won the Nobel Prize in Physics. Eight years later, in 1911, at the age of 44, she won another Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

During her later years, in 1906, at the age of 39, she became the first woman professor at the Sorbonne. She also promoted X-ray machines during the First World War.

Marie Curie died in Savoy, France, on 4th July, 1934, at the age of 66.
