A friend of yours, Carla, aged 14, wants to take up a new hobby. The hobby should:
• be something that gets her out of the house
• involve making new friends and
• not be too expensive.​

   Swimming: It gets her out of the house, is great for making friends if there's a local pool or swim club, but there might be a cost associated with access to a swimming pool.

   Pizza-making: This can be done at home, so it doesn't get her out of the house, but it's a fun activity for making friends at home without being expensive.

   Drawing: Can be done at home, so it doesn't fulfill the requirement of getting her out. However, she can join art classes or clubs which might help in making friends. Drawing materials might not be too expensive.

   Playing a musical instrument (guitar): Initially, it might be practiced at home, but she can join local music groups or classes to make friends. The cost might be moderate depending on the availability of instruments.

   Reading: Usually done at home, doesn't involve making new friends directly, and is inexpensive if she uses the library.
