Steve Backshall is a famous TV presenter and animal expert. He was born in Bagshot, Surrey in England. His parents worked for British Airways. Steve studied English and Theatre Studies at Exeter University and at the Open University. He also studied martial arts in Japan. He is a black belt in judo and a brown belt in karate.
He started working on television in "CBBC". In 2003, he moved to the BBC's "Deadly 60" programme іn the second series, he travelled to Central America and in the third series, he travelled to Australia. He is famous for another programme called "The Really Wild Show". In this programme, he looked at different animals from all over the world.
In his free time, Steve likes climbing and adventure running. He isn't married but he is engaged to Helen Glover. She is famous for rowing. She has got an Olympic gold medal. Steve asked her to marry him when they were on holiday in Namibia in Africa.
