Suddenly, the ice beneath her gave way and she plunged into the freezing water. However, she managed to grab onto the edge of the ice and pull herself up. She was now soaking wet and shivering with cold, but her first thought was still for the children. She crawled across the ice towards them and managed to push them towards the shore. They were safe now, but she was still in danger.

She quickly realized that she couldn't climb out of the water on her own. She called out for help, but nobody was around to hear her. She knew that she couldn't hold on for long, so she did the only thing she could think of. She started kicking and splashing in the water to try to make some noise. After a few minutes, her cries were finally heard.

Thankfully, a man who lived nearby was walking by and heard the commotion. He rushed to the riverbank and saw the girl struggling in the water. Without hesitation, he jumped in and pulled her to safety. The two of them were now safe and sound, thanks to the girl's quick thinking and courage.

It wasn't until later that she realized that she had potentially put herself in great danger by going onto the ice. She could have drowned or suffered from hypothermia. However, her bravery and selflessness in the face of danger showed what a true hero she was. She did her duty without hesitation, even if it meant putting herself at risk.
