A young boy from the UK named Toby Little started a project called "Writing to the World" when he was five years old. His goal was to write to someone in every country in the world, asking them about their cultures and requesting postcards and letters in return. Toby started by sending letters to his mum's friends, and the first reply came from a woman in Hawaii who lived in a town called Volcano. Toby has now completed his project and has received replies from almost every country in the world, including Antarctica. Despite completing his project, Toby still continues to write letters to people all over the world and dreams of visiting some of the countries he has corresponded with, starting with Gambia.
