a) In my opinion, some of the most important discoveries in the history of mankind are the discovery of fire, the invention of the wheel, the development of agriculture, the discovery of electricity, and the discovery of penicillin.

b) Some of the most important inventions in the history of mankind are the printing press, the steam engine, the telephone, the computer, and the internet.

c) I think that the 20th century saw the greatest inventions and discoveries, including the development of nuclear energy, space exploration, and the discovery of DNA.

d) Some of the wonders of modern science include artificial intelligence, gene editing, and quantum computing. These are such because they have the potential to revolutionize various fields and improve the quality of life for people.

e) Yes, I can remember some outstanding names of well-known scientists, explorers, inventors, and discoverers such as Marie Curie, Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Nikola Tesla, and Thomas Edison.

f) 'High technology' and 'new technology' are similar in that they both refer to advanced technology, but 'high technology' is often used to refer to more established technology, while 'new technology' refers to the latest advancements and innovations.

g) The work of a scientist is important because it can lead to new discoveries and advancements that benefit society. For example, the work of Jonas Salk led to the development of the polio vaccine, which helped to eradicate the disease.

h) While I am not sure if I would like to become a scientist, if I did, I would be interested in the field of renewable energy and sustainability. I believe that these are important areas of research that can have a significant impact on the future of our planet.
