Let me introduce myself. My name is Maxym. I am eleven and I am in the sixth form. My
school is rather close to my home, so, it takes me only ten minutes to get there.
My school day starts at 8 a.m. and lasts till 3 p.m. We have 6 or 7 lessons a day. We
study different subjects: Maths, History, Ukrainian Literature, English, Geography, Arts, PE,
Computer Science. My favourite subject is English. At the English lessons we read and
translate different texts, make up dialogues and play many interesting games. I do well in
English. Sometimes we have out-of-class activities. They are: subjects olympiades,
competitions, quests and games. I took part in the olympiade in English.
I know that in Great Britain children go to comprehensive or private schools. British
marks can be from “A” to “U”. “A” is the best mark and “U” is the worst.
Schools in the USA can be divided into state, or public, schools, and private schools.
State schools are free and private schools are fee-paying. American schoolchildren get marks
from “A” to “F”, where “A” is the best mark and “F” is the worst.
