McDonald’s

The hamburger has no connection to ham. It got its name from the German town of Hamburg, which was famous for its ground steak. German immigrants to the United States introduced the “hamburger steak”.

At the St.Louis World’s Fair in 1904, hamburger steaks were served on buns for the first time. Hamburgers on buns were convenient and tasted food. This became the usual way of eating hamburgers.

How did the hamburgers become the most popular, most typical American food? The introduction of the bun is an important part of the answer. Another important part is McDonald’s, the fast-food restaurant.

The first McDonald’s restaurant was opened in San Bernardino, California, in 1949. Hamburgers were the main item on its menu. People liked the restaurant’s fast service. By the 1960s there were many McDonald’s restaurants. McDonald’s was a part of nearly every community in the United States. There were also fast-food restaurants that sold hamburgers. McDonald’s alone sold millions of hamburgers a year.

Today, of course, there are McDonald’s restaurants around the world. The food they serve is considered typically American. And, although McDonald’s has expanded its menu, the main item on that menu is – as always – the hamburger.

The hamburger is fast food consisting of a fried patty of minced meat, usually served in a bread roll. About 4 million hamburgers are eaten each week worldwide.

FAMILY RELATIONSHIP

Family is an essential part of the society and it plays the most important role in everybody’s life. It means that the most important people in our lives are our family members. Family is represented by a close unit of parents and children living together. I believe that everyone wants to have a happy family and good relations with all its members.

In my opinion, a happy family should have mutual interests, hopes and dreams to share. Other important issues are love, trust and respect. No family can exist without love. Happiness is also impossible without love. When people love each other, they can overcome all the obstacles. Unfortunately, modern couples often build their relations on some other values, such as money, social position, etc. They think that happiness will come itself and nobody has to make an effort. They are mistaken, as good family relations are impossible without mutual understanding and love.

Children in the family also play an important role. To keep up ideal relations with parents they should be kind to them, trusting and understanding. They should share everyday joys and sorrows with their parents. Whenever, there is a difficult situation, parents are the first people to help the way out.

My family is not big. I live with my parents and my little sister. I think that we have ideal relations, as we never quarrel with each other. Instead, we always treat each other with respect and love. If there is a problem, we talk about it and try to find the best possible solution.
