Музеї - це важливі культурні інститути, які допомагають зберегти історію та культуру нашого світу. У цій проектній роботі ми розглянемо, що таке музеї, що вони створюють, та які користі вони приносять громаді.
1.Що таке музеї
Музеї - це організації, що зберігають і відображають матеріальні та нематеріальні артефакти нашої культури, історії та природи. Вони допомагають зберегти спадщину та розвивати наше минуле.
Існує багато різних музеїв, включаючи художні, історичні, природничі, наукові та технічні музеї. Кожен з них присвячений конкретним темам, і дозволяє відвідувачам дізнатися більше про цю тему та її значення.
Музеї відрізняються як від того, наскільки добре вони представляють свою колекцію та взаємодіють з відвідувачами. Деякі музеї є дуже інтерактивними, з великою кількістю експонатів, з якими відвідувачі можуть взаємодіяти, тоді як інші є більш традиційними та не мають цієї можливості.
Музей є промисловими інституціями в нашому суспільстві. Вони допомагають зберегти нашу культурну та історичну спадщину, надають важливу освіту та знання, а також забезпечують безпеку.

2 of any culture and society. A museum is a building where objects of interest and works of art3 are preserved and exhibited4. Some museums show objects of scientific interest; others show the development of arts and sciences; others show how people lived in the past.
I want to tell you about my last visit to the Museum of Ukrainian Art in Kyiv. It is one of the richest museums, a treasure-house5 of the finest works of outstanding Ukrainian artists of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. It was built by V. Gorodetsky as Kyiv’s first City Museum of Antiquities and Art, according to a design by Boitsov. The building was formerly occupied by the museum of science and industrial art.
The Kyiv State Museum of Ukrainian Art was opened in 1936. Its numerous galleries6 contain7 one of the richest collections of fine arts8 from the 15 century. This collection is arranged in 21 halls. I was deeply impressed by9 numerous works of classical painters and famous Ukrainian artists such as T. Shevchenko, V. Orlovsky, K. Trutovsky, S. Vasilkovsky, M. Murashko and M. Pymonenko which are on display10 there. The oldest exhibit displayed in the museum is the wooden polychrome relief of St. George with Scenes from His Life produced in the 13th century. Visitors can see many icons11 of the 16ft -18th centuries. Dramatic scenes depicted in some of them reflect the events of the people’s fight for freedom. In another hall we can find the largest collection of Ukrainian portrait art and folk art12. To my mind the portraits of Cossack commanders are extremely effective.
An extensive art collection of the 19th century includes the works of V. Tropinin, T. Shevchenko, V. Sternberg, I. Sokolov and other famous painters.
A lofty13 romantic attitude to people and to his native land is characteristic of the paintings and drawings of T. Shevchenko. Among the exhibits attracting the most interest is his last Self-portrait (1861), which is especially full of dramatic undertones. The poetry of old homesteads

14 and national costumes, the beauty of the Ukrainian landscape15 have found their place in paintings, water-colours16, and sketches from nature by T. Shevchenko’s con- temporaries and followers , such as K. Trutovsky, V. Sternberg and I. Sokolov.
A student of I. Repin, M. Murashko felt the influence of other Western European Art’s trends. Landscape painting has an important place at the exhibition too. Here we can see the lyrical canvases18 of S. Svetoslavsky, І. Trush and M. Burachek. The museum has several rooms with a large number of paintings made by contemporary painters, such as T. Yablonska, G. Melikhov, M. Deregus and others.
Each year the Museum of Ukrainian Art is visited by foreign visitors and numerous delegations from many cities and villages of our country. I’ll never forget my visit to this museum, because art plays an important role in upbringing our emotions, tastes and feelings, it enriches our inner world19 and cultivates love for people and nature.
