How to Write an Informal Letter
Письмо другу пишется в неформальном стиле
и должно состоять из следующих частей:
1) приветствие (Dear Mary, Mark);
2) введение, где есть благодарность за
полученное письмо и, по желанию,
упоминание о причине задержки с ответом
(Thank you for your letter. I have been busy with...;
3) основная часть, где автор письма высказывает своё мнение о том, что было
упомянуто в полученном письме, и отвечает на вопросы друга (I am happy to hear that..., As
for me, l.);
4) заключение с выражением надежды на будущие контакты (Write back soon; l am
looking forward to...);
5) завершающая фраза в неформальном стиле и подпись на отдельной строке без
точки (Lots of love,.
....

Dear John,

Thank you for your letter. I've been busy with school and haven't had a chance to write back sooner.

I completely agree with you about cosmopolitan cities. They are such vibrant and exciting places to be, especially for young people. I think one of the biggest advantages of living in a big city is the endless amount of opportunities and experiences that are available. There are always new restaurants and events to check out, and it feels like there is always something going on.

As for me, I am happy to say that my parents would support my decision to move to a big city. They understand that it is an exciting opportunity and they want me to follow my dreams.
