I'm sure people buy more things than they need. It refers mainly to women. Women like shopping. So they often buy too much clothes. But both men and women buy more food in supermarkets than they need. And not only discounts make they want to do it. It connected with they buy just what they like, but they don't think they wouldn't eat it. Also, they don't make shopping lists. Very few people do it before going to supermarket. People would save a lot of money if they didn't buy more things than they need.
