1 The UK
Great Britain is situated on a large island called Great Britain and consists of three countries: England, Scotland and Wales. The United Kingdom consists of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, so the UK includes four countries- England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each country has its own native language and also people speak English in each of them. English is an official language there.
England is a large country situated in the southern part of the island. The capital of England is London. It is situated on the river Thames. It is a political, cultural, industrial and business centre. There are a lot of sights in London. They attract thousands of tourists, especially in summer. If I were on three- weeks holiday I would like to see the Madam Tussauds Museum, the Houses of Parliament, the Trafalgar Square, the London Eye, Oxford Street and many other sights. I know that English food is simple, it includes porridge, boiled eggs ham, lamb, toasts, jam, etc.
The weather there is damp and mild. It often rains. There is much fog in spring and in autumn that's why I wouldn't live there. I don't think that Britain has too much political power in the world. It is famous for its chemical laboratories.Great Britain is situated on a large island called Great Britain and consists of three countries: England, Scotland and Wales.
