And it all started in the days of hoary antiquity, when in 1492 the navigator Christopher Columbus, who served the Spanish crown, reached the islands of the Caribbean. He landed in the Bahamas. A few decades later, the Spanish conquerors organized a huge empire in Central and South America.

The colonialists changed, but over time the country gained its independence. A huge merit in this belonged to the future first president of the United States, the hero of the Revolutionary War, George Washington.

Today, the United States is the world's largest power, with a rich and strong economy. What factors contributed to the successful development of the American economy? The richest natural resources, fertile soils, a good climate, the absence of pre-capitalist relations, the remnants of which would interfere with the formation of capitalism, a profitable labor force, developed special programs, competent structural adjustments. The development of the US economy was not hindered by the war, there were no grandiose human losses. The state has always taken an active part in the economic life of the country. Thanks to these and other factors, the American economy developed successfully.

American industry is distinguished by the use of advanced, knowledge-intensive technologies. Which industries are the most competitive? Aerospace, automotive, mining, petrochemical, machine tool, electronics, pharmaceutical, food, medical, computer and IT industries.
