I think that your mum is absolutely right. Not only does your part-time job help you financially, it also gives you a valuable experience. The best job for teenagers is something less stressful, as they have to deal with school and exams. In my opinion, the ideal option would be working at the office and doing some basic chores like printing documents, setting up meetings, answering calls. Unfortunately, there isn't as many part-time office jobs as customer service jobs, that's why many teenagers work at restaurants, shops, malls etc. That is usually what they earn money for.
