I'd like to tell you some interesting facts about my lovely city. Atyrau city and Atyrau region are located in the Western part of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Atyrau is called a lagoon city, because it is located in the Caspian lowland, where the Ural river brings its waters to the Caspian sea, dividing the city into European and Asian parts. Severe, but generous lands of Atyrau region are rich in oil and gas fields, and the river is home to many commercial fish, in particular — sturgeons. The city was named in honor of its founder, Guryev. Fishing and oil production were developed in the city. The laying of the railway played an important role in the development of the city. There are so many wonderful sights in Atyrau: the monument to Dina Nurpeisova, Local history Museum, Uspensky Cathedral, Imangali Mosque, etc. Welcome to Atyrau, and you'll see the most interesting places in the city and know its amazing history.
