The work of art named “Notes on Cafe Terrace at Night” was painted by famous artists, Van Gogh. The painting showed the cafe in France, called Le Café La Nuit otherwise, Café Van Gogh, in Place du Forum in Arles. Van Gogh showed what he saw during night, better to say how he felt, because as we know the artists works can be subjective, representing their feeling.

This painting represented post-Impressionism movement in France in 1880’s. This art movement started around 1880’s till 1910’s. Post-Impressionism was after the widely revolutionary Impressionism, many artists felt that the Impressionistic approach was just not their style. They wanted to paint with more subjectivity, drawing something unusual, something unrealistic, created in their imagination and allow their colors and shapes to convey deeper meanings than just what they see. Artists created background in their style with different colours removing empty space.

The first major exhibition from the artist's estate was held in 1892 at the Amsterdam 'Panorama' Building. Jo is the women who made Van Gogh famous.
