Pancakes Race is usually held in Britain. It is a Shrove tradition dating back centuries before the beginning of Lent. Every year people gather in the yards and in the streets for pancake races. Women and sometimes men wearing white chef's hats and aprons race around with a frying pan, flipping pancakes. Lord's took on national media in a race around a garden along the Thames, just down the street from Big Ben. In such a way they raise money for a health charity that helps people with brain injuries. The race's traditional shoving and cheating are a traditional part of the fun. Racers put extra pancakes in their pockets if they drop some of pancakes. The racers reccomend not to stop to pick pancakes if you drop them. The origins of Britain's pancake race goes back to the 15-th century. They say when a woman heard the church bells ring, she ran quickly out of the door and raced to church holding her hot frying pan.
