Yesterday the mayor of Warrington announced plans to ban cars from the city centre in an effort to deal with the problem of air and noise pollution. Many residents disagree though, as they feel that the public transport system needs lot of improvement before it can serve their needs.

Dear, editorsI read the news in the paper and thought you might be interested in my opinion on the plans to ban cars from downtown.We live in a world where society harms the environment. Many factories pollute the air around the world. This is not the main problem. The biggest problem is air pollution from cars. The problem is not in the cars themselves, but in their engines. Did you know that pollution from cars leads to global warming and acid rain? Trees and plants are dying because of these rains, and lakes and rivers are getting dirtier. In large cities, the air quality is very poor. There are several ways to reduce these contaminants in everyday life. First of all, stop using the car for a short distance, and instead walk to the desired location or ride a bike. This will reduce the use of cars. But the best solution is to buy an electric car. In any case, if you want to live in a world with clean air and an environment, you must sacrifice the constant use of the car.Well, that’s about it.
