It is important to look both ways for traffic when crossing the street. Roads are different. There can be two-way traffic roads and one-way traffic roads.
If one crosses a two-way traffic they have to check out the traffic for both flows. If one crosses a one-way traffic they have to check out one flow.
And it’s better to cross streets only on the crosswalks and controlled by traffic lights.
