My favorite writer is Philip Pullman. He was born in Norige, England in 1947. He had several jobs before he started writing. He first worked as a teacher from Oxford schools, then taught at Westminster College. He began to study writing while still working as a teacher. He's written a lot of great books. At first, he wrote adult books, but then delved into writing books for children. But the most famous of them is the trilogy "Dark Beginnings", loved by many children and adults. The protagonist of the trilogy is a twelve-year-old girl Lyra Belaqva. She has to use all her brave and courage to pass the tests set for her by fate. She gets into amazing adventures. Of course, in their passage she is helped by true friends. Philip wrote many other great books, but this one I liked the most. It reveals important issues. Pullman's books seem interesting to me. That's why I can say he's my favorite writer.

My favorite writer is Alexander Pushkin. He is the one of the greatest representatives and novelists of the romantic era. This era is located in the heart of every literature lover because of such masterpieces as 'Eugene Onegin', 'Ruslan and Ludmila', 'The captain's daughter' and etc. Undoubtedly, it is admitted by many critics and modern literary scholars that Alexander Pushkin have had a great impact on the creation of russian language and literature. In every poem or novel written by him I found something connected with me, endured lessons, looked for hidden meanings and tried to predict the further events of the characters. Despite the brilliant career and worldwide recognition, his life wasn't sweet as chocolate cake. Many complicated trials and difficulties fell on his fate. However, he was a multifaceted person. Beside Alexander's unlimited talent, he had a strong personality and this is also a reason why I admire him. He fought to the death to defend his and his wife's honor. This was a horrible day for whole world and there is not enough words to describe how upset I was when I knew it. In my opinion, it is an act exactly not everybody decides to take. Sometimes, I see Alexander as a role model for me. I read a lot of books about his autobiography and I found it exciting for me. I talk a lot about him with my friends and I hope that future generation is not going to forget about him.
