The history of technology begins with the use of stone tools of the earliest humans.
In ancient stone age, which began around 2.5 million years ago, made stone tools, used fire, spears, bow and arrows, and simple oil lamps.
The Neolithic, which began around 9,000 BC, demonstrated earlier agriculture, the use of digging sticks and wooden hoes. Stone tools were improved and stone axes began to be used in order to cut down the trees. The people of the Neolithic period learned to make pots, cloth, baskets, build houses and use boats.
Bronze age, which began about 4,000 BC created the agricultural civilization. The use of copper and bronze led to the emergence of many new methods and devices. This was the time when I started to receive trade. Copper and bronze personal weapons included in the application along with the war chariots to horse traction. Also during the Bronze age quickly developed construction equipment. It was the time when people started to build pyramids that still make an impression on us. During the construction of the pyramids, the workers of the Bronze age decided some of the most difficult problems of construction technology. They also knew how to irrigate land, to get good crops.
Iron age, which began around 2,000 BC, was a new technical era. First of all, iron was used in the creation of weapons. Bronze and iron weapons gave Greece military power. The Greeks built a large fleet, which they used for trade and to battle during the wars. Greek builders used the stone to create a stately building with massive columns.
The skill of the Roman engineers is legendary. They learned to build stone arches, domes and aqueducts. Roman engineers constructed a water well to use it. Even more important was the invention of the heavy plow. This new plow contributed to the development of civilization in Northern Europe.
