It was a lovely winter day. The sun was shining and some parts of the blue sky sky could be seen through the clouds.
Dan and Martin decided to skate on the lake not far from their house. Dan's mother didn't allow her son to skate alone but skating together was quite safe.
Both friends could skate well and had great time on the lake. They had been skating for an hour already, and Martin was ahead, when ice cracked and Dan fell in the water.
Martin tried to safe his friend by himself. He took off his scarf and cast it to Dan. Dan seized it and Martin could pull his friend out of the water.
Fortunately someone saw what had happened and called 911.
When the ambulance arrived, the boys had already come to the shore and were standing and shivering with cold.
The rescuers covered the boys with blankets in order to make them warm and sent them to hospital.
Fortunately, this story had a happy end.
