Учёные и философы считают, что первым было яйцо, спорят с этим теологи. Итого — 2:1 — в пользу яйца. С точки зрения учёных, яйцо появилось задолго до появления курицы в процессе эволюции, к тому же всем известен тот факт, что зарождение жизни происходит в яйцеклетке.
