Russia is rich in minerals such as coal, oil, nickel, copper, natural gas, and even diamonds. The huge size of the territory determines the local climatic diversity: from the Arctic to the subtropical. In the center of the country, the climate is temperate. One of the main periods for pride in the country is its unique nature from East to West. The country is rich in numerous lakes, rivers and forests.

Everyone knows that the United States is called the melting pot of cultures because of its history and the nationality of its citizens. The same can be said about Russia, because its population consists of people of many nationalities: Slavs, Tatars, Chuvash, and many others. This mix makes the country unique and unusual.

The head of State is the President, who is usually elected every 6 years. The capital of the country is the city of Moscow with a population of about 10 million people and it is growing every day. This city is a miniature replica of the whole country.

There are many stereotypes about Russians and their country. Most Americans and Europeans believe that every Russian family lives in harsh Siberia, drinks vodka every day, plays the balalaika, and has its own brown bear instead of a dog. In fact, Russia is today a major political, scientific, cultural and industrial center, and all these stereotypes are nothing more than fairy tales.
