Thanks for you letter. It made me think about friendship.
I get on well with lots of people but live only get one best friend and that's Alice.We`ve been friends since we were five and I think our friendship is very special.
Alice is fair-haired, medium height and has blue eyes. She is very modest and shy whereas I`m cheerful and sociable. At first glance we may not seem to have much in common but we think alike and value the same things in life. We have similar hobbies, we both enjoy skateboarding and go to printing classes together, but that is not the most important thing in our friendship.
The essential thing is trust and knowing that I can always rely on Alice and that she can keep secrets.She`s also a good student and I admire.Alice`s hard work and willpower.I`m not always so determined and patient.
In primary school I had another friend called Sheila but she let me down several times. When I told her a secret and asked her to keep it, she let me down. That wasn`t the only thing that ruined our friendship. I found out that she had lied to me a number of times and she couldn`t be counted on either.So,we not so close any more.
It seems that relationship in a man`s world are more superficial.Ted has lots of friends compared to me and a person`s characted seems to be of secondary importance.Ted`s friendship usually based on shared interests and hobbies.He has made friend with everyone in his photography club as well as in his footbal team but he doesn`t have one really close friend.I think he enjoys his own company most.
