Ann said: “The centre of New York is Manhattan Island. In 1626 it was bought from the Indians for a sum of twenty-four dollars. Today we are going to take a stroll around it. This year lots of new skyscrapers, banks and offices were built in Manhattan. Broadway begins here and we will start from this point. Very few people live in Manhattan, although the majority work here. Some years ago Madonna lived there and even wrote a song “I love NY”. Tomorrow we will have breakfast in her favourite restaurant. I have never been here till last year. I am sure, this place is absolutely magnificent.”
