The flag of USA consists of stars and lines. The colours are red, white and blue. The number of stars on the US flag (50) corresponds to the current number of states in the country. The 13 red and white stripes on the US flag represent the 13 colonies from which the formation of the new state began. Red means valor, white - purity of intentions and thoughts, blue - justice. We can always see the flag on government buildings but we also use it to decorate the streets on such national holidays as Martin Luther King Day, the birthday of the sixteenth US President Abraham Lincoln (February 12), Independence Day (July 4), Veterans Day (November 11) and others.
