For 2 years from 1887 to 1890, more than 600 tremors were recorded in the area of the Vernensky earthquake. Mushketov's scientific calculations formed the basis of the "Rules on the construction of buildings that are most resistant to the destructive effects of an earthquake on the basis of science and experience", approved by the Semirechensk Regional Board on November 8, 1888. According to these rules or norms, further antiseismic construction of Verny was carried out. Intense earthquakes occurred on July 1 (13), 1889 (Chilik) and December 22, 1910 (January 4, 1911) (Kemin).
