The water cycle can be divided into four main stages:
1. Evaporation
Evaporation occurs when the sun heats up water and turns the water into vapor. Transpiration, which is water escaping from plants due to Sun’s heat, also contributes to some extent, to the process of evaporation.
2. Condensation
The water in the form of the vapors rising, cools down at a certain height and condenses to form clouds.
3. Precipitation
The water keeps condensing to form clouds, until the clouds become heavy. Then the water droplets are released from the clouds and they fall back to the Earth in the form of rain, hail, snow or sleet
4. Collection
As the water falls to the Earth, it’s collected in oceans, lakes and rivers.
Once the collection is over, water begins to evaporate and the cycle continues!
