British MPs want to stop fast food companies advertising to pre-school children in reaction to reports about the growing number of obese children in the United Kingdom.
Debra Shipley, the MP for Stourbridge, wants parliament to vote for a ban on the advertisig of high fat, high sugar and high salt food and drink during pre-school children`s telivision programmes.
„Irresponsible food and drink manufacturers try to get to children through televison advertising and clever marketing strategies”, said Ms Shipley.

Parlament`s health committee has ordered a number of big advertisers to answer accusations of making profits by advertising products that damage children`s health.
