Когда долгожданный мальчик родился, его назвали Самсоном [“солнечный”]. С малых лет он отличался необычайной силой и смелостью. Как-то раз Самсон, одинокий и безоружный, шел среди виноградников. Вдруг на дорогу, страшно рыча, выбежал молодой лев. Самсон тоже пришел в ярость, бросился на могучего зверя и голыми руками разодрал его пополам.
