Do you prefer ecotourism in Russia over city’s excursions? You are at the right place, my friend. Are you dreaming about exploring Russia? Let me share all my knowledge with you. Russia is the ideal place for the adventurous tourists.
Russia is a home of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. One of them is the Lake Baikal, or the Blue Eye of Siberia (located in in southern Siberia). The Lake Baikal is the largest, deepest and oldest freshwater lake on the planet!!! It is also home to an unequalled abundance of Wildlife in Russia.
Lake Baikal Another UNESCO's World Heritage Site is the Virgin Komi Forests in the Urals (absolutely grandiose forest size with rivers and natural lakes).
And how can we forget about the volcanoes of Kamchatka (one of the world's most beautiful active volcanic regions).
Animals in Russia Well, my reader, there is a rich natural world to be explored in Russia. Russia is also one of the few places in the world you can go to see a bizarre 'midnight sun'. Midnight sun is where the sun is visible to 24 hours a day. You can enjoy this wonder if you travel to St Petersburg. The month of “midnight twilight” or “white nights” you can see between June and July. This is where the sun never goes fully down, and is just below the horizon.
Russia also is country of great rivers. There are 34 the biggest rivers in Russia. Six of them are entirely located on the territory of Russia. They are Lena, Volga, Yenisey, Ob, Olenyo and Kolyima. Russian rivers Ob, Yenisey, Lena and Amur are consider being the major rivers in Russia and the Greatest World Rivers and Volga River is one of the biggest European rivers.
Wildlife in Russia is diverse and varied. Visitors will find many kinds of animals in Russia such as, sea otters, bears, eagles, masses of fish and a variety of birds.
Russian Amur tigers Wildlife in Russia also includes some endangered species like Amur Tiger (commonly called the Siberian Tiger). Male Amur Tiger can reach lengths of up to 13 feet or 4 meters long, including the tail and many weigh as much as 350 kilograms!!!
Russian climate is a quite big chapter in Geography of Russia. There is no way to explain it in two words. Please check my website for the updates. But I can tell for now that chapter about Russia climate will surprise you and ruin a lot of myths about brutally cold Russian weather...
