Однако женщины начали участвовать в них только в 1900 году. На данный момент проводятся Зимние,Летние и Параолимпийские игры для атлетов с ограниченными возможностями. Не так давно появились Юношеские игры для участников 14-18 лет. Победители получают медали. Третье место награждается бронзой,второе -- серебром,первое получает золото.
