I1: Good afternoon! Come in and sit, please.
I2: Hello! We spoke on the phone yesterday. I was wondering if I could participate in student exchange program in August.
I1: Oh, yes. I remember. So, why do you want to take part in this event?
I2: Mostly because I am interested in learning English.
I1: Well, what is your level of learning language now?
I2: I guess it's "B2-C1". I can speak it fluently, I just need some practise. I am facing a problem of lack of experience of talking to native speakers.
I1: I see. Another thing... Have you taken any language courses?
I2: Well, no. I don't have a lot of money. I learn new words while reading books of American and English authors in the original.
I1: Impressive. But vocabulary certainly isn't enough. How did you study grammar and phonetics?
I2: I have been watching American films and series with subtitles for five years already. It helps me to improve my pronouncation and study some grammar aspects. Besides, I often communicate with natives in social networks.
I1: You've done an astonishing work! It's difficult to learn a language without a tutor or a course. You definitely are hardworking. Give your documents to my secretary tomorrow. I'll include you to the list of participants.
